It’s been a few months since we last heard from Mark Suster. Today he’s back with his customary blunt advice. This time, he takes on a practice he charmingly refers to as “grin fucking.”

What’s grin fucking? According to his favorite definition, it’s “when someone smiles and shakes your hand assuring you that they have heard and will act upon your recommendation or concerns when in truth you have already been ignored and dismissed.”

When you work at a large corporation, a lot of corporate bullshit (Suster’s words, not ours) is going to hit your desk. When it happens, stop the insanity!

Suster provides an illustrative example from his own days at Accenture. It may not have been a politically astute move. But his subsequent professional success suggests that it hasn’t done him much harm either.
